REALIZATION
It's "Curtains
up" and eyes "wide open" for team builders and team
leaders.
I once asked a true maestro how he began the practice
sessions in trying to enthuse a new orchestra for the
challenge of performing a previously unknown masterpiece
for the first time under his conductorship. His answer
was compelling:

"One
third of the musicians readily understand what I
would like to achieve and are ready to work with me
in order to achieve my desired musical effect..."

"A
further third are not "with it" for personal or
health reasons...they´re either ill or have family
problems which initially make it difficult for them
to want to follow my line of reasoning..."

"My job
is to take that last undecided third of musicians
and to convince them of my musical vision... only
then do the actual rehearsal sessions begin!"
Isn't this
the real jist of the challenges we face in corporate
leadership as well? Aside from the wisdom of "Know
thyself" it is incumbent for us to "Know thy team"
